Chunckwm is a nice tilling windows manager for macOS.
To install it, use homebrew:
brew tap crisidev/homebrew-chunkwm # stable version brew install chunkwm # HEAD brew install --HEAD chunkwm # start the service brew services start chunkwm # other avaliable options are restart and stop
chunckwm is made of several modules and works in a client-server structure:
- provides tiling functions
- show a highlight border of current active window
- provides window follow mouse function
Configuration is in ~/.chunckwmrc
Compare to khd, skhd has less adivanced functionality but better performance.
I chosed skhd, to install it, use homebrew. Note that it requires xcode-8 command-line tools.
brew install koekeishiya/formulae/skhd brew services start skhd # other avaliable options are restart and stop
Configuration is in ~/.skhdrc.
